Another Backup

A profile contains the files and folders you select to back up, the destination folder to save the compressed backup, and the backup interval you set up etc.

To add a new profile:

  1. Click "Add Profile" button.
  2. Enter profile name, select a source folder you want to backup. If you want to filter some files, please click "Set up... " button.
  3. Select destination folder to save the backup, and select backup interval.
  4. There are two type of backup, one is all files backup, the other is incremental backup. All files backup backs up all files each time, while incremental backup backs up all files at the first time, then only new and modified files are backed up. You can select one type to meet your needs.
  5. Backup files contain the backed up data. Backup files created by Another Backup contain compressed files that were backed up. The backup file format is an improved, yet 100%-PKZip 2.04g compatible file format, so if required, files can be recovered with any typical unzipping application. The data can also be encrypted to protect it. To set up a password, please click "Password..." button
  6. You can set up a retention time for the old backup files to save disk space. Check "Delete backups old than" option, then enter a time. backups kept in the destination folder longer than the retention time will be deleted when the next schedule time comes.
  7. Click "Save Profile" button.

To edit a profile:

  1. Click the profile you want to edit in the list and all its properties will be showed in "Profile Properties" frame .
  2. Change the properties you want to edit.
  3. Click "Save Profile" button.
